Tane Mahuta

WALT: write a paragraph about the information on Tane Mahuta.

Our class has been working on writing a paragraph on the information we found about Tane Mahuta and this is what I wrote. Hope you enjoy.

Tane Mahuta
Tane Mahuta is a type of tree that grows to be 51 meters (or more) long.
They are famous for their length and size and grow up to
51 meters high and 16 meters in weight and they are over 2,000 years old.
They are also known to be the largest living kauri trees in New Zealand.
When you stand underneath the tree it
towers over you and all the trees around it and it looks as if
we're about to tumble on top of you.
Legend says that the Tane Mahuta is a god.
The god of The forest and the animals inside of it.
Tane Mahuta and kauri trees are truly amazing,
but when kauri dieback puts them endangered it gets difficult.

I think I have done very well on my paragraph and with putting the information into my own words. What do you think?

Our Hokianga camp

WALT: write a blog post on our Hokianga camp.

On the 21st of November, we traveled to Hokianga for a very special camp with the year 5 and 6 students.

Our group and the rest of the camp stopped at an adventure park called

wairere boulders we all found the path and carried all the way to the loop while taking loads of pictures.

Then we drove to a small marae we were staying at called te whakarongotai,

we started unpacking all our language and possessions into the

whare and started the activities set out for the day.
The next morning we all woke up and got ready, I was so energetic.

We had breaky and packed our lunch for the day and waited until everyone was ready to leave,

we got into our car and went down to the wharf to wait for the boat so we could cross the water.

Finally, it was our turn and so we jumped on the boat and sailed to the sand dunes.

We slide down the dunes with our boards and it was awesome.

Soon we went back to the shore on the boat and went straight to see Tane mahuta.

I saw the huge trunk of Tane and was so amazed by the height and beauty,

we had to sketch the tree which was pretty hard since I couldn’t see half but it turned out great.

I thought our camp was absolutely amazing, what do you think about my post? What part did you like the

most?
